I was talking to an MR2 owner at JAE and the amount of trouble he has had is unbareable and they still dont fit right! Catch the wing when he opens em :(

 

Serious amount of work involved there mate. Make sure you offer the wings back up to be sure they open and close ok before bolting them back on properly.

It it a universal kit or one for the Zed itself??

If you gonna do it, pay for proper Z ones, will be better in the long run. Also alot of the cheap ones cant take the weight.

If you're gonna do it, i would suggest you get a pro to do it. It envolves wings off and cutting of metal etc..... Really no where near as simple as they lead you to believe.

If you look at the pic when the door is in the upward position the gap to get out of is tiny. Goodness knows how you will be able to get out.. silly really. :rofl:

Hi Craig, I was with Isaac when we went over to the lad in the MR2 lambo style, and they looked great, and lambo doors have always interested me too, but after speaking to the guy, i deffo wont have any, I asked him straight, would he do it again and he replied NEVER!!! i think he said they were over £800 for the hinges and had no end of trouble with them, scraping the wings and not shutting properly, it looked as if they were fitted carefully and presice but only work done in the factory on a proper lambo mate, I personally think they look great for a show, but practicly going to the shops and around town etc, i think we might look cocks IMO

GT Factory are the only ones to go for. Badmonkey on this forum got them imported a few years ago at the cost of £1200 if my memory serves me right ?

 

**** to fit, but in his defence, they clear the wings, dont wobble, open up enough to allow plenty of access and are very, very good quality.

 

As to whether they suit or not ?? Everybody to their own choice ?

If you like them and want them, **** everbody else and get them !

Its your choice, your car and who gives a toss what other folks think ??

I know a guy who has a skyline on our estate he told me never again! He had to take both of the wings off the car to fit then then get a body shop to re-form the wing due to the envelope of the door. I thought about it, my kids wanted them as well but after weighing it up i would not be able to open the lambo doors when zed in the garage.

spoke to the guy and they open 18" before lifting up to a 65degree angle.
