Im wanting to lay a drive, I have it all dug out at 17' x 12' and planning 4" depth.

 

Im going to need approx 2 metres square of concrete to do the job but can anyone help with the quantity of sand/gravel/cement I will need to buy?

you mean you need 2 cubic metres...i work on 1 cube =one and half tonn so you need a 3 tonn sand/stone mix and about 6 cement;)

Before you start, havn't they brought in new laws about concreting drives? Only mention it so you're aware ;)

They sure have mate and I had to get permission but thanks for the heads up :)

just ring a local concrete mixing centre and tell them what you want, they will deliver it mixed and usually just dump it into where you want it

iff you aint done much concreting this is the best option as allan says..plus the driver will know just by looking how much you will need,down my way 2 cubes would be about £95 unless you have my contacts then its half bat:D

I gave them a call today and they want £200 delivered which i aint sure if that was cheap or not.

I aint doing it myself and got a buddy to do it :)

sounds about twice the price of mixing it yourself but much better mix and a lot less graft...btw thats a tad expensive for 2 cubes,better prices down here:)
