dont think so, if its a gift its about £4 for the buyer. or mark up what your selling

I fookin hate paypal. If i can i get away without useing them the robbing B@sterds

I thought there was no fee for either party as a gift? According to my 'gift' sending history, no fees were incurred.

I received a payment on here the other week, and asked the sender to mark it as a gift, but he stated that he had to pay a fee. Then I payed for something else on here and payed via Gift and wasn't charged a fee, nor was the recipient!

Then yesterday I payed for something and the fee was on the Gift section again  so I'm not sure whats going on there!?

I've got it!!!!!!!

If you have funds in your PayPal account, then there is no charge on Gift, if it has to come from your bank/card then they must charge you!!

Does that sound right?

Only draw back with gift is unless you trust the person you have no comeback if they don't keep their end of the bargain, the fees are there to cover claims if any need to be made.

Well i just checked with someone who i sent £35 to last week and they said they got it all because they asked me to send it as a gift. so i did. Has anyone paid as a gift and been charged?

Ive sent money as a gift and then been asked if I'm paying the fee or the recipient.

Me too, is it to do with the amount, mine was for £80

I sent £135 to Holland a few weeks back and no charge on either side was made. Seems a random thing if people are getting charged as I've never been asked...

Think i sussed it, it's the source of the money that determines the fee.

From ebay

Transaction fees for domestic payments

When is sending money free?

It’s free to send money to friends and family when you use your PayPal balance or bank account as your funding source.

When do I pay fees?

If you use a debit or credit card to fund your payment to friends and family, fees will apply. Fees also apply if the money you send is to pay for goods or services.

The fees to receive payments when you sell goods and services will vary depending on your monthly sales volume (see chart below).

Purchase payments received (monthly) Fee per transaction

£0.00 GBP - £1,500.00 GBP 3.4% + £0.20 GBP

£1,500.01 GBP - £6,000.00 GBP 2.9% + £0.20 GBP

£6,000.01 GBP - £15,000.00 GBP 2.4% + £0.20 GBP

£15,000.01 GBP - £55,000.00 GBP 1.9% + £0.20 GBP

above £55,000.00 GBP* 1.4% + £0.20 GBP

So the moral of this story is.. keep money in your paypal account or keep the funds from your bank.
