Water got into the connector and when i went to start the engine i heard a sizzle and saw smoke from the ecu :( So i need one asap. Beiing my daily drive and all....

Its a turbo manual one im looking for but i think the auto ones will work fine too.

ok looking at the ecu its looks as though one of the pins has goten hot and snapped off.... can anyone confirm thats theres suppose to be one pin missing near the end? i dont think so......

looks like its stuff in the loom side of the connector, if this is true, im well and truely dead for life....

 

anyone have andy p's number? ive lost it and im pretty sure hes always got ecu's lying about.

Just checked on a spare auto ecu i have and there doesnt appear to be any pins missing on it.

 

Thanks, yep i did just manage to remove the pin from the loom connector... phew, but it still looks pretty pooped in there, lets hope this new ecu will work...... Vjay has found me one.....

 

such a shame as i just spent all day cleaning the car for some good pictures.... dam it.

 

now i gota get this ecu socketed again.

Its ok ive found the pin, it came out pretty easy, and im picking up an ecu at 6:30 :D happy days....

 

bad news is il be socketing my ecu again :( always looks so messy when i do it.

Thats my second atempt to socket myself, didnt look great but it worked.

I probably have a spare ECU, the good news for you is that with a manual car with a boost controller you can use any ECU (man/auto) and TT or NA.

ah so an na ecu will work too. I see.... that would obviously be because of the solenoids being unpluged and the manual boost controller. cool il bare that in mind next time it breaks lol thanks andy.
