no offence to any of you die hard z32 owners, but i just got a '93 TT and it sooo slow, i swapped my 200sx for it and would like some info on how to tune it up, but s13 200sx, could do 0-60 in 4.5 secs running 350bhp need some info on how to get say 0-60 in 5 secs or under in the z, its standard at the mo its an '03 import do z32 use stages like the 200sx do, like my s13 was stage 3 ecu chip, z32 maf, uprated fuel pump exhaust induction kit few other bits so any threads on z32 tuning

sounds like you have a problem, probably a boost leak

Does it have an after market boost gauge, does the stock boost gauge go passed the half way point, might be in safe mode

You may have a boost leak or running safety, as a TT, even standard should be pretty fast and lots of mods to be done to get uo the bhp. Do some searches in the threads and you will find alomost everything you need to know.

Welcome to the site by the way

Stock zed Is around 5.2 to 5.5 secs depending on which model you have.

They are 280 hp stock and with a chip. exhaust. up the boost and a filter will see you around the 370-380 hp. Thats stage one ;)

Also you have to remember the power delivery between the to car is differant so natually the 200sx will feel alot quicker due to the single turbo set up. Where as the zx will be alot more smoother ;)

dont forget its a bigger car so may feel slower, but it'll have the torque and top end power that your s13 never had... its not hard to get a Z to your desired 'fastness'.

The S13, is a differnt car due to the weight. sure it can go like stink at low down to quite quick, but a decent zed wakes up when others are dying off, trust me a standard one is quick, but a bit modded one is a loon. Every time i take mine out it makes me smile, then i have to back off as it all gets too quick.

You may a problem, need to establish what at first.

Where are you in Sussex?, im in Worthing and know a fair bit about these cars.

i went from a stage 1 S13 to a Z.

i thaught the S13 was a lot more quicker aswell tbh, but my S13 was on 15 PSI,

a standard Z does feel a bitbig and slugish in comparison, but you need to do the stage 1 mods to the Z,

stage 1 S13 vs stage 1 Z32, the Z is going to be & feel much faster. regardless of the size

good luck trying to get the Z to do 0-60 in under 5. Ive got just over 400bhp and i can only get a 5. Thats measured with one of those g-tech meters, which ive got to say, are quiet accurate. i am, however, by no means a drag master and my car isnt set up for drag racing. But like everyones said, all the little cars might leave you at the line, but its like they're on an elastic band when you fly past them as the speeds get higher.

is that on standard clutch/flywheel? over 400bhp and 5 secs 0-60 aint too great??

no mate, very few things are standard. Got an rps max clutch and fidanza flywheel. Its the grip on the launch. Tried nailing it and side stepping the clutch, tried easing the clutch in, tried letting it bog and then nailing it. But 5 seconds is the best i can muster. But on a rolling start, say 30 mph, well, thats a completely different story.

they are fat old ladies... another good thing is to shed some of the excess weight from the car, I'm gonna start that soon.

It may be worth trying some very sticky 275 or wider tyres if you haven't already.

Ok when you say slow what sort of 0-60 figures are you getting, stock will be 5.5 sec on a good running manual zed, but it will still feel slower than a 400kg lighter car. My slighty modded s14a was running abit more than standard boost, and felt considerable quicker than my zed.

Using a rough power to weight ratio calculator you would need appx 390fwhp to achievea 4.6sec 0-60 times. Obviously this is just numbers on paper real world figures would be harder to calculate.

thanks everyone, i dont think i have a boost leak as the standard gauge does work, my zed is an auto though, timed it and is over 6 secs, and im not sure about needing 390bhp, as my s13 was fully stripped weighed in at 1050kg!!! plastic windows the works, was a beast,

im gonna go for stage 2 i think, couple of T28R's full zorst, direct cold air filters fed through the front fog holes, think i still have a profec B laying about will that fit a z? and where would i get the ecu chips from any good companies, have done a search but can't find any obvious places.

Standard auto is around 5.7 sec, bear in mind the zed weights 1580KG.

Mine is a standard auto TT and I just about kept up with a proven 300bhp Focus ST upto 80mph from a standing start. So I would say yours could be down on power slightly.

Not being funny here, but what did you expect? Your S13 was 2/3 the weight and tuned, the Z32 is standard!

Your proposed route though sounds good and should set you up nicely.

Welcome to the club ;)

I can drop the clutch in mine in first gear on full chat with the toyo r888 and boy does it grip and catapult you forward, got to be under 5 seconds to 60 that way.
