ok guys Clutch has started making a horrid noise when it is Pressed/ Engaged! Sounds as if its juddering like when your about to stall so a loud (can hear it in traffic with windows down) clicking i guess (will try and upload an Audio of it)

Now the clutch still Engages/Dis-engages fine and good when changing gears so its not Master or Slave cylinder and if i apply a touch of pressure to the clutch pedal (not even 10% pressed) the noise starts and it also will 'click' faster if im in Neutral, clutch pressed and i touch the Accelerator pedal.

So my 1st thought was its the Clutch Release bearing (Also called Thrust bearing IIRC) but im not sure. Cause of this is Unknown all i can think of is perhaps lazy foot had slightly pressed clutch in while driving about (for alot of Miles) so has worn down pressure plate teeth perhaps??

Is getting looked at on Thursday but if anyone has any ideas, it will make it easier and quicker to Track down the problem!

Many Thanks in Advance

Worn out flywheel teeth?? WTF? Those are only used by the starter motor.

As above, sounds very much like a dry release bearing.

I thought the 300 does not have a thrust bearing, but a pivot bush that has no bearings, as quoted by "jimmer".

Al.

yep, it rotates on the shaft, held by a special bracket sort of thinggie and moved by the fork,so as you apply pressure could be that as si says it`s dry or wearing out..then again i may be wrong,if you have to replace it may pay off to upgrade the pivot ball too.

does sound like thrust bearing although it shouldent judder because of that really? just buy a whole clutch kit which should come with thrust bearing, and all the other gubbings.

Believe these were changed when the New clutch was put in (around 6months before i became the new owner) thinking of putting a lightweight flywheel in as Box will need to be taken out so as im there but funds are tight :(
