My uncle has lent me a recovery Transit which has the bars on the back which raise two wheels off the ground.

 

this option worked out really damn cheap for me and so will be using it to take 300zx to zedworld.

 

as it is a rwd do i need to raise the rear instead or the front?

 

last but not least if the Rear needs to be raised my ground clearance on the front bumper seems scary.... is it easy to remove front bumper?

I've read about there being problems if the cars an auto.

 

But when i had mine recovered after the ignition switch went, the front wheels was raised onto the recovery frame.

yeah see i was told to raise the rear instead and lock the front steering wheel. that way the autobox wont be turning. i just need to remove front bumper as the clearance changes with the rear in the air

The quickest way would be to disconnect the propshaft from the diff and tie it up out the way, that way you can tow it front first. It's a lot less hassle than taking the bumper off!

That would work. If you go down this route, remember to disconnect the pro shaft from the diff end.

Taking the front bumper off aint hard tbh. Its only held on by about 14 bolts and screws.

 

This would probably be the easier option actually. That way, you could reverse the car onto the recovery arm.

i'm thinking my bumper will be easier because i don't have the extra shields that go under wheel arches. so bumper should have less bolts

by the way im travelling 150 miles... will the steering lock be sufficient for keeping the front wheels straight as i dont have a locking bar :(

Im not too sure on that but im guessing someone will be along soon who can offer some info.

well i would of tried that however i cannot get underneath the car as its low :(

you have no ramps no trolly no wood then your not going to get prop or bumper of. me after doing both 15 mins prop an hour at least bumper

hmmmmmm..... i guess i will just have to get up earlier and remove front bumper :(
