We are picking my car up this Friday...

Before anyone says about bloody time or anything

This is the down side...

We are are picking the car up as not complete and still in bits!! I am very disapointed in the garage.

I was a bit unsure about pulling my car away but after sending them a email on Wednesday saying this was a big consideration of ours and not to get a reply until sending another email sent the Monday saying the choice has been made and that we are picking it up. Very very poor and very dispointed. Poor isnt the word for it but having my car for a year and a half and only get to a point of stripping the engine what else do you expect from a garage like that.

This means selling my parts is now becoming more of a reality.

I have several options,

Get the car finished off and built else where, however with my past experiance with the previous garage i have totally lost interest and can not see me being able to put behind the loss of year and half of my life and the money i have lost.

The other option is to sell the lot, cut my losses clear my losses by another car. You can get allot of car now days for little money. There is a new shape ford Mustang out. If i was to get a year old Mustang i could get a shelby or a roush or Salleen Mustang.

So that is where i am with the whole saga.

I am very disapointed and sad that it has came to this.

I am still not a libity to mention the garages name in question.

Infact I am in every right to warn people of my experiance with this garage and shout about what has happened as why shy they get away with it???

Before i say anything I have to wait until i get my deposit back and claim compensation if i get my deposit back and a reasonable amount of compensation then i will put this behind me and respect it as a nutural end to the whole saga and put it behind me and never mention or speak about it again, however if they make it hard for me to claim the above back from them well it goes without saying, Everyone will become fully aware and i will name and shame them.

I just can not believe this has happened.

Thing is, they have had the car a year n a half. when my insurance ran out i renewed it thinking i would get my car back. I pay £1500 a year so i have lost £2250 in insurance. There is Tax, there is the amount of times i have had to go all the way up there and back and they are a very long drive. There is transportation and hire of vans and recovery trucks to and from them dropping the car off and parts.

I have spent money on postage sending parts up there and things like brakes are very heavy to post.

I have had to buy another car in the meantime while they had mine That was £3500 i think plus insurance and tax.

There is the fact, sinse they have had my car totally ruined my life and pulled me apart, i now have medical record for depression and on medication and was reffered to CBT theoropy. My medication isnt cheap either.

They have made me hate my car! and if i did sell my parts i would probably loose about £10,000 on them to sell them all on.

If you are like me and live for the Jap scene, how do you bounce back from this? I have barely gone out apart from work since they have had my car. Everything i do evolves around the car scene no car then i cant really join in as such.

I can keep going on and on but it is totally pointless.

Mate,

I totally understand how you feel, it's coming up to 3 years since I drove my Z after being messed around by bodyshops. Even though Custom Exotics ending up doing a brilliant job, I still have no enthusiam for my car anymore as it's just been too long and so disheartning. I decided to get my car home and then not worry about it too much and when I have time, get it back together.

Hope you can find the time and inclanation to get it back on the road ;)

Thanks.

Yeah it is a real shame.

Well me and dad were talking about this last night. He said it was more like 3 years for me also. As the reason this all started was because my car went wrong, low compression and turbo had gone.

So i got it repaired still wanst right, then it was built locally by scholar engine who made a total mess of the whole thing, really messed the car up. had a medium build with expensive bolt ons. The engine failed after 2000 miles as they had built it wrong and made a right mess of it. It was diagnosed as their fault.

So in a way I have been without my car for 3 years.

As you say it really frustrates me and cant bare the site of it. I have loads of nice pics of it which i dont before putting up as i dont care.

I have lost all that money on my first rebuild also, on labour and parts.

I have really lost with this car.

Dont get me wrong the 300 is a awesome car and fairly reliable when it is running right but i have just been so unlucky.

sounds like a total nightmare, when these cars go wrong they so need a specialist to put them right I hope you get your compensation the garage involved has held your car far to long and I would have pulled it long before now good luck in the courts and try to put this behind you and move on

why cant you name and shame the garage??

Because they still have his car and all the bits, and he is hoping to get some compensation from them.

coolio.. so i guessing that once its all sorted, he can then tell us who they were so we dont go to them :D

why cant you name and shame the garage??

hope you get yourself together on this 1 chap... i can relate to your disheartening of not having the car for a long time but i cant imagine the extra emotions on top with such a vast amount of cash being tied up too.

cant be an easy decision, though it sounds as though you'll have one of the highest profile engine builds in the country if you go through with it? if you buy a mustang etc, you'll just have something that any1 else can buy. there is a chance (quite a big chance) that you'll get it all back together and love it.. all will be well again... but if you give up now... you'll never know.

It is mate and yes you are right i should done that a long time.

However i am a total walk over in a way, they kept lying and giving me fulse hope we are now starting bla bla bla.

The only reason why i am now bringing it back as parents were sick of it, they were sick of it 8 months ago and I get defending the garage. It has caused allot of arguments in our house. Dad has lost his temper about it so many times and it just said thats it now its coming home. He was totally right though same as you said we should went and picked it up months ago.

I cant because they have my car and all my parts.

Also they have £3000 of my deposit and am going to claim compensation.

If I get back reasonable amount of compensation it will be very dis honest and dis respectful of me to kick up a stink about them.

It all depends how much compensation they give me and how they go about giving it to me, if they refuse and make it difficult it will just piss me off even more.

However if they pay up a reasonable amount i am happy with, i will have to honor it as a mutural end to the whole saga and i cant really go about talking about it and ranting and raving.

I use to love my Zed but i have really gone off it now, lost so much sleep over it and worry about it all the time, that is a long time to worry about something which you are very passionate about.

You are exactly correct though, my dad was the one who kept saying to get another car and move on but i said i do love the Zed. Even if you had something like a Lamborghini it is the same as the one next to it.

I also said as i live for the jap and car scene with another car apart from Jap i will not be able to put my car on stands with my mates, i will not be able to take my car on track at jap shows and not be able to run at pod at jap shows. All things i do with my mates that i will no longer be able to do.

Apart from all that, my snowboarding and the odd bit of Xbox i have no other interests really.

Thanks same here.

I am collecting on Friday. So wish me luck.

Will be good just to get it back even if it sits there at least then i dont have to deal with them and listen to all the lies and promises.

Lets say they gave my £3000 deposit back what kind of compensation would you expect? I dont want to agree to something when i am entitled more but there again i cant shout for loads more than i am realisticly entitled to.

They have done all the machining that needed doing and fitted my diff and the new gearing into the diff. Thats all they have done though along with stripping the engine supplied cleaning and like i said the machinging. The heads are togther also.

Apparently they also done a dummy mock up of the engine however i have no prove this has done except a picture with the plenum, heads and bottom block together which i could train a monkey to do. there is no evidence that anything else was done or added in that mock up. They lie to me all they time, they might of just thrown it together just to take a pic to keep me happy.

Like the time i went down there and it was clearly obvious that they had only pulled the car in on the ramps that morning or the day before. Complete lies all the time and false hopes.

This is not good advice, but i can honestly say if they did that to me i would smash there faces in. Total tossers

haha, well my dad has tried... so many times to go down there and deal with it with that approach. He is a builder and does not take **** from anyone.

I have held him off well.

They are probably laughing at me behind my back.

You've had it rough, does sound like you had a nigthmare with the car so far.

tbh, I think your chances of any compensation are zero though, and they will probably at best offer you your deposit minus the cost of the work done so far :( , and you'd probably have to go to court if you pushed it.

Yeah is such a shame.

You have seen the car in early days.

I'm sure you come to thingy in Belguim with us. King of europe show or something.

finish it off mate. no point in getting rid after all the effort etc..

Sadly it is very unlikely you will get comepnsation, im with Legrath on that. The chances are as well that a garage of this standing is unlikely to have any money anyway if thats the way they go about business.
