Which one of the above would be better for me?

I have a NA with 98,000 miles.

I'm avoiding anything fully-synthetic as it's probably too thin for an old engine and not sure if it will give any advantages.

semi synthetic is recommended, best of both worlds,

As to the make, there has been alot of discussion on here, search the oil threads and in particular opie oils thread HTH

(imo) it would be the Mobil Super S 10W/40 had this in there twice now !! and will be going in on my 3rd change

but both the oils are ok to use in the Z

get a genuine oem or wix filter though

If only you were a subscibed member, you would get 1 litre free from a supplier on here at very good prices :( Never mind.

Thanks again. Got the OEM filter at the weekend. Just need the oil!

Good Good !

Oh did you get the washer?

Fully synthetic is the same viscosity as semi, and since you can fully synth at virtually the same price it would be silly not to get it!

Bought the Mobil Super S Semi 10w/40 yesterday from Halfords. £19.99 for 5L.

Should be fine.

Thanks to everyone for their advice.

Well, finally changed the oil this weekend and it has certainly made a difference.

Quieter and smoother; oil change definitely needed.

BTW, between 5 & 6 litres of old oil came out...

OEM filter from Nissan.

Approximately 3.5 litres of oil, the same as my wife's 1 litre Micra!

Strange but true. My 2.8 litre Merc takes 9 litres...
