I've been working on the zed and I noticed the battery has been going flat while its not been used.

Did a check (ammeter in line with battery +ve) and when ignition is off its still drawing about 0.18A. Is this normal???

Sounds normal to me, an alarm/immobiliser will be drawing current, as well as a boot light if fitted (can't remember if the Z has one!)

Batteries, especially older ones will not hold their charge for as long as a new one either, particularly when they haven't been used for a while. How long are we talking? Weeks? Months?

Cheers guys.

Basically its been trickle charged for ages but I was doing some work on it and was stop starting throughout the day so it was probably pretty depleted anyway. Forgot to put trickle charger on and came back a week later to dead battery. Charged it for a bit, came back next day and it was dead again. So checked residual and it showed some current. Good to know thats normal.

Cheers again.
