really is the wrong time for this to happen to me!

i have a noise in my z. yesterday while pulling away from a set of lights (sensibly not hard ) i had a bang from under the car. pulled over and couldn't see anything unusual or oil etc so carried on my journey. (gears changing fine etc)

well today been doing a little driving around shopping etc and there is a noise that has developed under the car.

this only happens in first gear when coasting in gear (clutch in or out) and sounds like a rapid timnny knocking noise! you can feel it through the gear leaver if you push forward and hold it in gear.

also if you do a slow gearchange while rolling into 1st the noise is apparent too!

i have a video of it http://s99.photobucket.com/albums/l316/hellraiserz300/?action=view&current=LGVR0015.flv but the wind disguises it a bit

really need help on this !:nelson:

really only in first as far as i can tell and no doesnt jump out of gear. drives fine in all gears just noise in first.

been talking to a good friend with a lot of experience in these matters and his opinion is that i may have sheared a tooth on the first gear or possible damaged a bearing. advice is not to drive it!! FOOK!

well if you do end up taking it back out then you might as well open the box and sort it yourself as ime sure once opened it will be self evident what needs replacing...goodluck

thats the plan , if i can still get the parts to do it. first things first , get rid of breaker in my garage,

get z up high and drop oil to look for evidence of filings/particles that indicate a failure of something.

remove box

open it up and cry!

open beer, swear, then close garage then come back next day!
