second time in 4 years both times car was parked up. This time 2 witnesses plus cops were already there. My wife didn't notice it came out of asda and cops were watching my wife get in her car ready to drive off (w@nkers) it was only that a witness came over and told her. The knobhead wan's to pay for it all not through insurance. I don't agree with this due to possible problems later on or complications and f#ck him anyway he was in the wrong and I have no sympathy for him. My wife said he'd had a drivk she could smell it but the breath test was neg.

should it be done without the insurance involved? I think they should be even with the possible cat. damage being logged

in all honesty in both cases the cops were pr#cks!!!! damage wasn't too bad cosmetically but witness said he hit it hard, he reckons his mat got stuck under his pedal and couldn't get the brake  witness said he was going too fast. Car is all plastic and has sprung back out I'm worried about unseen damage as the alarm is playing up now .

also my mrs had to tell the cops to breath test him! they weren't gonna bother... ffs

breath test was neg and cops said the car was insured they did a radio check thing.

I would let the insurance companys deal with it tell your insurance and try to get his details then let them sort it out

that's what I think too. any comebacks then can be sorted properly

So his breath test was negative and he is insured?

Whats your problem?

Sounds like your spoiling for a fight over nothing.

If your that bothered let the insurance deal with it, thats what you pay for.

Have a :duffer: and chill the fook out.

it's actually 4 times in 5 years her cars been hit(2 of which tried to drive off and 1 actually did) I forgot about the one in her works car park and her escort that got hit when she moved down here.

My problem is my wife has been cryin her eyes out because some twat was driving too fast and hit her car! I know accidents happen but people should be a little more carefull in car parks don't you think? there are young kids around. I suppose you wouldn't be bothered if your tvr was hit ? :( and as for "having a drink" that aint gonna sort it, I don't drink anyway. Guy who hit my wifes car had had a drink so I guess it might be a good idea then

I guess it depends on how bad the damage is, my bro has a 2008 bmw 1 series. someone scrapped and dented his bumper and the dude just paid for my bro to get his car fixed at bmw. What ever route you chose your car will get sorted, so i wouldn't worry :) if he pays for it, then you won't have to pay excess tho

my mrs phoned insurance today no excess to pay no claims will be fine and courtesy car included. Doubt the dude would have paid for that as he was driving a shagged out m plate civic. It's going to be fully checked crumple zones, alarm airbags chassis radiator etc as it was shoved over 6ft into the next parking bay bay(luckilly it was empty as the car would be a write off. The insurance also advised not to take up the guys offer of repair(guess they would anyhow) my wife is upset enough as it is I don't think she should have to go out of her way for someone elses carelessness.

fingers crossed for a hassle free repair with no tears :D

try and sort out without insurance as it affects your no claims even if its not your fault as you have to declair and bumps ,i`ve had 2 nonfault accidents and wasn`t even in the car for the 2 of them and it affected my price for renewal as they say staticly if you have had an accident you are pron to them ,what a croc..

indeed they can be very awkward. you've got to get cover up to the hilt to get any help at all. Direct line in all fairness that have been a pain with second car policies(suppose that's not their strenght) have been pretty good service wise with the last 2 claims my wife had to make. one repair was near £1k and the second was a write off. Both times my wife was parked up stationary:headvswal
