I've just sold something on ebay and have listed a basic postage rate. I have not included any international postage rate.

Someone in Southern Ireland bid and won the item. Now postage rates will be as for international European will they not which will be substantially higher than just to regular UK destinations.

Anyone know where I stand with this? I have contacted the seller to suggest that because I did not list the item with international postage that the postage costs will be higher since this guy is not in the UK.

Any info would be great.

Thanks

Get a qoute of R/Mail, and if he is a decent bloke or women ,they will pay the diffrence , or if your only a £1 out of pocket is it worth the hassel ,asking for the diffrence

Well this is it, my postage rate was low as I didn't mind absorbing some of the shipping costs, but not if it's to a European destination!

does'nt it state on ebay that its UK mainland delivery price if you dont list an international delivery price.

I've sold a few items in the past that were bought by somebody overseas when I had only listed UK price, and each time I have given them the new delivery price and they have paid it.

You can do that on the invoicing option can't you after you've sold?

Get a qoute then see what they say , just explain you cocked up ,say you will pay a bit more than them ,

I dont believe Si had cocked up. If you only put the one price then thats the UK price. If an international bidder buys without getting a price outside of the UK then thats their fault.

i agree, just out of curiosity did you state where you would post the item to, as mine is default set to UK only
