like i said i never had a mans car before ! and very new to this.

its better to ask and learn though mate rather than just shy away and not ask i only just realised the other week that the cruise control braked for you when going down hill

as said, get to desired speed, press set coast, if you press brakes it auto turns off, if you press the resume button it takes you back to set coast speed, and cancel just turns it off.

think this is right but am prepared to be shot down in flames as i havent driven mine for about 6 months.

now i didnt know that!

I don't think that's true! Mine certainly doesn't.

no it does'nt brake, it cant, all it does is lift off to maintain the correct speed.

It sences the diffrent gradients, and raises or decreases the revs accordingly

Not that i''ve used my cc in a while but there was a point when i used it allot, and i've always put cc on pressed set coast then used resume accel to get the desired speed and release seems to hold there until i brake or take cc off, also increases speed through the resume button in short increases

dont you have to be doing over 40 though and under 70?

Edited by ck300z

Your CC can also be cancelled when you press the accelerater while in coast mode.

I will normally set the cc at 75 or 80.

So you're Z will run cc at 80mph??

I thought that was kinda the upper limit

Yup!

It's over 30, and there is no upper limit.

Not cancelled, overridden. When you take your foot back off the accelorater it will go back to the 'set' speed. Is useful on the motor way when you've set it to 70, and you come up behind someone doing 69.5, you can give it a quick blast just to get past and then let it fall back to 70.

yeah was meaning it slowed you down when going down hill not actually applying the brake should have worded it better was just in previous time when i used cc i pressed the brake to slow myself down then one day when there was no cars i just let it go and realised it slows itself down

i think once you touch the accelerator to ressume at speed again y ou then need to press teh resume button.

thats how i operate it anyways and its the same with modern cars i believe?

UK cars have different cruise control settings to Imports. You can fit a UK cruise control ECU into a Import so fix that.

Euro spec cars work from 30mph to about 90mph. It can be sort of entertaining if you have been on a road where you can set it to 90 then slow down to 30 and press resume. The sensation that its running away with a mind of ots own when it gets on boost on its way back to 90 can be a bit scary. Obviously not to be tried in inappropriate circumstances!

Thanks for the info Legrath
