It appears that the previous owner damaged the little temp sensor by sticking it in the fan (nice one).

 

If you have this item for sale I would be very grateful

    Small black/Grey Plastic Box with a temp sensor and a fan in it.

    Lives in the roof behind the plastic trim (with the two map reading lights) in the T bar. (centre of roof).
