Hi people,

 

have any of you any information about a "Turbo cool down timer" thingy? the electronic thing which i have seen under the steering wheel, which keeps the engine running for a bit after you stop? i was told this is to cool the turbos?

 

If so does anyone know how long it should be running after a journey?

It depends on how hard the car has been pushed. 2-3 mins if you just been thrashing it about everywhere would be safe.

 

Whereas, If you've been driving it steady for the last few miles, then no need for turbo timer to be used.

Ok thanks, i am buying my first z as we speak, and i took it out for a test drive and upon our return it stayed on for about 20 seconds, i have just never seen one and i wanted to be sure.

some of them measure rpm and speed to calculate how long to leave it on themselves.
