Quick question, how do I find out what series my 1991 UK TT manual is?

yup series one mate. 1993 is when s2 started iirc

The latest UK (1994) is only half S2 parts as well by the way. They never made a UK spec car with full S2 Parts.

S1 07/1989 - 08/1992

S2 08/1992 - 09/1993

S3 09/1993 - 10/1994

S4 10/1994 - 01/1997

S5 01/1997 - 10/1998

S6 10/1998 - 09/2000

 

Based on manufactured date ofcourse, not registered date.

 

There are crossovers change between years, and differences between UK and Japan.

For a Uk spec, there are 2 main differences between S1 and S2.

 

Panel trim; S1 = tweed; S2 = alcantara (suede type fabric)

 

Heater controls; S1 = fully auto with ambient (outside) temp display; S2 = partially manual controls for fan direction and loss of ambient temperature.

 

I'm sure there are other subtle differences but that should help identify what you have.

Did the uk s1 have 3 point seatbelts in the rear? I thought this was a s2 thing.

The UK had 3 point rear belts for all years.

In my case, Uk Spec, manuf o8/04, have full leather / alcantara trim, multi directional fan, etc. Series 3

Both front seats are electric and heated, is this standard on all UK spec cars? or did they also have on later spec japs too.?

Both electric seats was standard for all series 2 and series 3, UK & Jap, but heated was an optional extra
