Hi all,

Whilst clearing out my garage I found a new, boxed radiator cap. On the box it's listed as a Denso (part number 022510-0580) and on the cap itself is a Nismo sticker with the rating 0.13Mpa (1.3kg/cm2).

I've read some bad things about the Nismo cap on here; but this looks like a Denso with a Nismo sticker.

Do you reckon it's safe to fit or should I bin it?

Thanks,

Richard:cool:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

It's a slightly higher pressure cap increases the pressure inside the radiator, thus raising the coolant boiling point and supposedly improving cooling efficiency. The open valve pressure on the one you have there is is 1.3 kg/cm² compared to the standard 1.1 kg/cm².

Not sure on the Nismo Q' though

I wouldn't bother. Yes, It moves the boiling point higher, but it also increases the chance of leaks due to the higher pressure.
