I'm off to see the doctor tomorrow. My health has started to go down-hill a little. High amounts of fatigue and other stuff that loosely resemble symptoms for diabetes.

Always tired, not just a little tired like some people get, but very groggy and drowsy all the time and it's been slowly getting worse over the last month. Vision is sometimes blurry. Waking up in the night to go to the toilet. Just really not feeling right at all.

Just wondering if anyone else has been diagnosed with diabetes in their late 20s/early 30s. What sort of things did you experience?

ive been like this for aes now, been to docs tobe toldthat there is nothing wrong, hence why i havent been drinking much and getting lots of exercise lately, have had lots of colds and been run down and slightly depressed for a few months now (depression due to tirednss i think)

from what i knew about an ex gf who was diabetic, she just had to monitor her blood sugar levels every now and then, couldnt eat sweets and stuff. occassionally had to have a shot of something but cant remember what it was.... :D

Think it's the otherway round. Tiredness due to depression. I'm not getting ill though, ie, no colds/flu/infections, nothing. Just a downward spiral of fatigue and grogginess.

Insulin.

I thought i was diabetic but i changed a few things in my diet and it sorted it out.

Firstly i found i was intollerent to yeast, i'd wake up groggy and have all the feelings of a hangover without drinking and the nutritionist told me it was the amount of sugar i took in mixed with the yeast that had multiplied in my body and turned to alchohol in my guts then got absorbed in my blood stream.

Cut out yeast entirely for a month and felt amazing after a couple of weeks! Harder than you may think but you can just cut down and see how that goes. I don't eat sandwiches just wraps now and i drink spirits instead of beer and it works out fine.

The toilet thing i found if i don't drink for the last hour and a bit before bed i can sleep right through without having to get up in the night so no late night drinks.

Try it and see what happens buddy

Only thing I take at the moment is Symbacort. (Steriod for my asthama).

well there ya go, could be down to the asthma, my uncle suffers badly from asthma especially in the summer as the polen affects it aswell, he is always tired and grumpy

I don't suffer badly from asthama and have been taking this medication for 15 years.

My Wife is an Insulin dependant diabetic since 3 and also an ashma sufferer. If you want we have a spare blood glucose tester you can borrow or if you want any advice I can give you her number to call.

It stabs you, make you bleed a tiny bit (like a spot) you put it on the tester (size of a mobile phone) and it tells you what level of suger is in your blood. If you are not diabetic it stays pretty stable as you body controls it, but if you are then your suger level will either drop or go very high (sounds like your sysptoms are more low suger than high).

Symptoms of Diabetes

1. Needing the loo a lot

2. Feeling very thristy

3. loss of colour ion face (if low)

4. Red face (if high)

5. Feeling shakey

although she knows more about it than me, i just have to sort her out when it goes wrong and she goes into coma's in stuff.

If you are diabetic now then it probally be controlled by tablets, but as your under 50 you will be very likely to become insulin dependant (injections) in later life.

not forgetting you can have very p1ssy moods as well when getting low....like a mega stropping / unreasonable b@stard really

also a funny smell like pear drops / nail varnish on the breath when ketosis is happening too
