Hello everyone!

Just bought a 1996 Manual TT, had it just under a week and very happy with it.

However, today I noticed whilst crawling up a hill in traffic, in and out of 1st gear i did eventually start to smell the clutch. Is that a sign that the clutch is on its way out do you think or just that i'd been on the biting point too much? any thoughts much appreciated!

thanks, Phil

Welcome to the club! 1996 huh? Nice, not too many newer models about.

As for the clutch, if it's a stock one, then they can smell a bit and slip occasionally when warm and/or abused.

Welcome

Welcome to the club Bud :), Car looks great ;), nice in white and wheels are mint :)

Daz.

If it seems to race higher in the rev range, revs go quicker and feels like slipping, then it could be that the clutch is on its way out.

PLus you zed is super clean, you can see white indside the rear wheelarch.

Welcome bud.

That looks super clean! Nice one. Not sure on the wheel colours though, but the car looks great!
