hi all, only just got the car today and all was well, ran my son home tonight and i think it seems to be stuck with only 3 gears?

overdrive is switched off

power button is off(middle position)

sitting at 120kmph im at 4000 rpm

feels like it needs another gear

i have jap clocks all in kmph up to 180

even at that speed theres no difference when i put o/d on and off

 

ive had v8 autos before and v6 autos and they all changed revs when i swithced between these modes?

 

or maybe im just being paranoid lol

all the lights for the above buttons all work when switches pushed

 

what is the little orange stick thingy on the gear knob?

 

i think its stuck in 3 gear mode?

sorry meant to say that with o/d onn and o/d off its atill 3 gears and the same revs at 120kmph revs 4000rpm..

could it be one of the switches?

The little stick is a release switch in case the lever gets stuck, sometimes does if it stalls.

 

With overdrive on you should get all 4 gears. Should kick in around 60 depending how hard you accellerate.

i aint gettin fourth mate,

is it some kinda limp mode?

or a dodgy sensor

ill disconnect battery tommorow for 15 mins to clear ecu then check for any codes?

wheres the diag socket and is it the jumper type with a paper clip?

with overdrive off 120kmph would give you 4000..check circut between od switch and box.(does the od light funtion?) The power button is not meant to sit in middle as this gives you the last mode it was in before put in middle,its either power or hold
