How exactly does it work? What advantages does it have? And also is it likely to damage anything?

Thanks, Dan

The unit just intercepts the coilpack command from the ecu. Doubt it would do any harm I think it would be the same as traction control.

I think its just to stop you driving like a loony, I can't tell what the buttons on the controller are? (maybe browser). The advert doesn't really give a clear indication as for what it doe's except that you can program a limiter in i.e. if you peak torque or bhp is 5500rpm then it should be set to misfire soon after that to stop you revving to 7000 and shagging the engine up.:nono: Save up and look at racelogic traction control with launch control as that should interest you more :)

TBH it just looks like something for car park antics.

You can use it like a launch control system that you set to the best engine revs for the fastest possible start without too much wasteful wheelspin.

If you make it hold the engine revs too long at a whatever set point you have put it at you will get unburnt fuel going into the cats and the engine cat overheat light will come on - you might even cook the cats. If you have no cats and the exhausts are well hot you might also get pops and flame shooting out your exhausts.
