what spring rates???

am about to order BC coilovers but dont know what spring rates to go for. shall i go for the manufacturer recommended : BC distributor recommend a spring rate setup of 8.0 (front) and 6.0 (rear). This is based on their experience with racing both Skylines and Silvia's. Their cars are road-going vehicles and this particular setup will provide excellent road holding characteristics as well as excellent posture on the track.

i want it to be comfortable on the road but good for track days.

yes, 8/6 is the typical standard coilover spring rate for the Z32.

If you were concerned about harshness on the road you could opt for a slightly lower 7/5 or 6/4, and then run aftermarket Antiroll bars to reduce bodyroll.

The budget korean coilovers that have a bad name for their harshness, such as Ksport/D2, tend to be supplied with an OTT 12/10 setup.

OEM spring rates are around 2.5 btw

Depending on price of those coilovers, I would advise taking a look at the HSD Coilvoers from Driftworks to compare. They are the same coilovers as sold by SPL and Powertrix in the states, which have a good reputation for Road and Track on the Z32.

Thats what i am on at the min. Cost me £500 delivered:tongue:. also with the 8/6kg spring rate.

fantastic ride quality and it is very smooth. Then if you adjust it to stiff. then thats another story.

Handleing on soft and stiff are both fantastic. better than teins
