Main Bulbs, can you set me straight.

According to autobulbs data, both the dipped beam bulb and the main beam bulb are H1, my local auto shop also say this, however i have read on this site that they are H3 or H3c, with a mod to the former to make it similar to the latter (I think)

Can someone please put me right as i need to improve the main beam output as its like driving with a candle. (i already have HID on the dipp)

You need H1.

Tbh, Im suprised you say yours are like driving with a candle. The Stock Main beam is actualy pretty good, its only the stock Dipped beam thats not. With HID's in the dipped beam the output is fantastic, I dont even feel the need to use High beam even in the darkest country lanes. Sounds like the insides of your headlights are very dirty, which is a common issue.

Yeah, take your lights apart and give them a good cleaning, including the reverse side of the Dip Beam globe. Straight forward and FREE to do!
