Cleaned the engine bay at the wk/end then this morning loads of black dust mainly all round the rad shroud and the black timming cover , the belts are fine ,is it just dust of the road, only done hundred miles ,any ideas:confused:

Yep all in tacked and all the fixings are secure as is the rubbers in the engine bay ,

Nop the dust seems to be mainly the above the pullys could the brake dust be pulled into the bay wheels seem clean so maybe not daaaa

Brake dust would not end up there Buddy.Defo check your pulleys.Best to be safe than sorry Eh.Have you got aftermarket stainless rad pipes because one of mine would have rubbed.So tied it back.

I have kept the car completly standard all the parts are from nissan , apart from brake pads , the belts !dont know how old they are cant see any wrighting on them and the do look a bit tired on close inspection so i will replace them tomoz ,

If the dust is mainly on the top of the engine , could the bonnet maybe need lowering on the front lip ?

Cleaned the engine again, lowered the bonnet ,the front lip was 8-10mm higher than the front air box and lights, so could of been forcing through the gap
