I'd like to paint the 'Nissan' on my brake calipers with white Hammerite paint as I have some in the garage.

Is this OK, i.e. will not burn?

No mate,

On my previous car, had a fiat stilo.lol. Was tiziano red....beautiful colour.

Anyways i painted all 4 of my calipers with hammerite red, they where fine, worked a treat and where easy to clean. It tells you on the tin the heat rating of the paint anyways i believe. But it should be fine.

I think im going to be buying some hammerite and painting my calipers white or black, and whatever colour i choose the nissan will be in the opposite colour.

Probs best i go for black with white.

nice one thats me sorting that out then, what colour?

dan.

not a quick decision for black , there are a few colour's i could say that i think would look good?

narrowed it down to two for mine though :D

ok >

1st choice would be

1. black with nissan in white

2. Gunmetal or dark grey, with nissan in white

3. (last but not least) red with nissan in white

prob hard to picture the gunmetal seen it on a black car once though looked good!!, cant remember if you still have the Nissan caliper's though mate or aftermarket set up?

Any normal spray paint is more than adicuate for the job.

Spray the caliper all one colour then once dry sand the nissan logo with a bit of wet and dry and you will have the perfect look/finish

thanks car mad so i dont even need high temp spray paint then ?

open's up the colour options 2 lol

I have only ever used normal spray. and it stays on for years with out any problems :)

I do have some pics somewhere

good to know , think i remember seeing some pic's with the uprated set up you had errmm k sport i think (could be thinkin of Isaac there though)

as i know his are k sport

oohh if you can use normal car spray paint then that makes it interesting! what prep is needed? good clean then undercoat, top coat then lacquer?

dan.:D

I just used brake cleaner. then sprayed the calipers in stages. building up the paint to get a smooth finish. then sand the logo

I never use laqure as i dont like it. But i can get a really good finish with out :)

Also all the coupe lads do it with out any side afects. We use to put the brembo decal back on the laqure over the top. so the decal looked as if it was within the paint

Thank You :D:D

ive used hammerite on brakes and plenum, it loves the heat, just makes it stronger, oh and its petrol resistant which is very good.

just a thought, if you do the sanding without aftercare/protection on uk calipers they may rust as they`re iron not ally

Im going for the black and white.arghhhhh:rofl:!!
