the isp 'talk talk' added 'steam' to their traffic management black list in 2006 to try and keep inet traffic down during peak periods. they said it was to keep the speeds up for home/office users and online gamers! all my games are on steam and without it, i cant play any of them!

 

this has never been a problem for me as im with the isp 'pipex'... until now! talk talk have recently bought pipex and now i cant play my legally paid for games between the hours of 8am and 11:30pm :cry:

 

so, if your considering changing your isp and you use steam, avoid the talk talk umbrella... luckily my contract was up ages ago so i can just fook em orf now but most will tie you down for 12 months.

this is why i hate talk talk and all they are and always will like aol hell

yep with talk talk and ok it's free , dont play many games but darn it's slow complete bandwith drop from around 3.30pm to 1.30am soon as my pc clock hit's 01.31 am you can watch the download speed spike to it's limit !! ,never see that in the day

I'm with bt and steam is fine (thank god!!).

im going with sky...

Eclipse were ok with me but with sky now. Eclipse have a range of packages now different from what I was on and I never had problems with customer service etc always straight forward in my experience.

was thinking of sky also as i have their tv pack also maybe get a deal ccan I keep my tiscali email address does anyone know?

and to add insult to injury thier MAC code and cancellations lines are only open from mon-fri til 6pm BUT upgrades and new customers is open 24/7 :rant:....... like they can't do a multi department thing ffs

i very much doubt ul be able to keep your email addy. after having to change my email a few times i now have a hotmail account so it doesnt matter what isp i use :)

 

sky dont have the best customer services but as you say, with the tv and phone package, its by far the best price around
