I had 2 before getting my ZX. They are still decent cars if you find a good one.

From what I remember the autos were better than the manuals. Plus the engines are quite tough (providing they are not shagged). Normal mods like filter, exhaust etc will give a little improvement.

Look up Fensport (I assume they are still around) as they were respected Toyota tuning specialists and a great source for parts at reasonable prices.

The engine's weak spot was the head gasket. They all eventually blow because the bolts were never properly torqued down at the factory. The cure is to tighten the bolts by a few extra PSi; although it may be too late. If (when) it blows just make sure the garage that replaces the HG tightens the new bolts more than the standard settings suggest.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I have a mk3 supra turbo manual for a track car. I have a "hibrid" turbo, exhaust, filter,

manual boost controller, feul cut defencer. Goes very well. Head gasket gone in 6 places so it is now receiving a metal gasket, reworked head, V8 flow meter, 550 injectors and a remap. Should be fun.

I had an auto mk3 supra turbo, paid £500 for it from Blackbush auction.

Thats the car that got me into the jap car scene. sold it to my dad in the

end.

Spot on mate, arp studs needed for the head. 1UZ afm or go for a link engine management. Rouge motorsport are good with these and i have a great contact who tunes these if you need any help. Manual is bomb proof, turbo ct26 good for 14.7 psi. Avoid fuel cut defenders, have a nice electronic boost controller. Mine was way quicker than the Zed, never had a problem with it after around 5-6 year of owning on.

Yeh, got the studs too. DRK looks after and sponcers the supra, cheaper parts, labour and brings his supra to track days too. Can never have enough contacts, thanks.
