no, its was in the 300zx Z32 vs 350z feature...stupid thing is it weighs about same as the 350z it was being compared to anyway.

Yes, my point is you cant rely on anything they say. On one episode they will say something about a car than a few episodes later they will say the complete opposite. Its all about whatever point they are trying to get across for any particular feature.

and a replacement engine is sitting on the garage floor to be fitted when i can work up the enthusiasm to get the finger out and get stuck in!

I know exactly what you're saying mate and agree, if i'd took top gears advise on buying a car i'd probably have ended up with a Skoda Felicia than a Z32 :rofl:

well to me its been a mapping/feulling issue as the compression droped to around 100psi across the 3 cylinders on that bank which has in turn caused accessive crankcase preasure, forcing oil up the breathers, past the pcv valves and a look of horror on my face when i noticed the blue smoke pumeling from the exhausts lol

Really sorry to hear that mate !! , did you just source an aftermarket engine then from somewhere?

yea, bought a second hand engine from an engine supplier in manchester which when delivered had a smashed oil pump and badly dended sump as it had obviously been dropped!! anyhow the proceeded to piss me about until yesterday when another unit arrived so fingers crossed its a good un

Don’t know what to say mate, sounds like you've had it rough since you bought it, certainly don’t think Pete would of sold it to you knowing anything like this was pending though !?, hopefully as you say the eng you have there is undamaged and in good con you thought of getting a 60k service done also just to be sure ?

Spoke to Pete a fair few times through the forum , great chap !! so yep wouldn’t of sold it like that had he known, as you say just unfortunate :mad:

 

it's a nice Z though mate i remember the pic's Pete posted a while back and a rare model to top it off!!

Well bud after a bit of messing about finding various bits and bobs car should be on the road by monday, problem is ive been off on holiday and really couldnt be bothered spending it sorting the car as im a mechanic and obviously fix cars day in day out so the old zeds been a bit neglected lol!!!
