Hello.

Well as you all know i purchased my zed from stella knowing its needing a new engine anyways. today the knocking got slightly louder(harder) and i think its over fueling as it is very very strong when driving the car, so i think its time to get some help and get it into a garage for work.

Have been trying to contact JeffTT, completely understand you are busy and select the e-mails and pms you answer back to, but would be very grateful if you could check the date i asked for in the pm and get back to me so that it can be booked in and i know where i stand.

IN the meantime........does anybody have any info..companies etc that may be of help with the engine work needing carried out.....already contact jimmer, andy duff, JeffTT. Waiting reply from andy and Jeff(where i was hopignn to get it booked in)

Cheers Guys

No mate........you got any details for them? website etc?

Nup.....jimmer was a question on a rebuild....where as zedworld for a new engine checked fully fitted and set up was more than half the price.

If you mention about the forum perhaps he might be able to do a deal for you

in my opinion they are the next best option to ZedWorld.

cheers mate will give them a call later see what there price is.....whats the company called. is it just darrens?

Then you can't really say Jimmer is pricey. Huge difference in fitting a second hand engine to reconditioning it.

The garage is called D2

but the main man to speak to is Darren

Exactly. Therefore it's a little unfair to call Jimmer 'pricey' when you're not comparing like for like. Jimmer is one of the most competitive people on here if not theeeeee most for the work he does especially considering the quality. :)

Jesus christ Si............i think you need to calm yourself....im not looking for a debate im looking for assitance you have suggested jimmer i have acknowledged that and i previously got a price from jimmer for work...not disregarding thats price but just oviously looking for a cheaper one.

I have heard good reviews about jimmer and also zedworld so its a toss of a coin who it goes to im sure its going to have work carried out to the highest standard. so can you stop acting as if i have some kind of problem with jimmer or something as i dont just shopping around thats all.;)

From personal Experience I would recomend either Phil at Blackmore Service Station or Jeff at Zedworld. - Both have been good for me mate. Cant believe StellaZ car has now left Sunderland lol

I think what you meant to say Craig is that an Engine rebuild is too pricey, rather than Jimmer himself (who's prices are very competitive) ?

Plonking in a 2nd hand engine is always going to be a cheap option, but what you get is a 15yr+ old Engine out of a scrapper, compared to a Professionally fully rebuilt engine, which is effectively a brand new engine or better than new.

Jimmer is a highly regarded engine rebuild specialist, whereas Zedworld does not do that sort of work.

At the end of the day though it all comes down to budget.

You really want to be phoning these Specialists if your after a quick response, rather than PM'ins/Emaling.

Yeah thats what i was basically going for legrath.

Does anybody know how much such a thing as a full forge engine rebuild would cost? I know its 3200 for work from jimmer.

Wouldnt mind going down the full rebuild route......as this engine has 146000miles on it and needs repaired soon. Is there much power gain from a full rebuild of forge parts etc or other parts?

Matey I'm fine.

good good mate glad to hear.lol:hyper:

Depends what you want if you're gonna get the whole engine rebuilt while it has it's current issue then that sounds like a job for Jimmer

but if you just want the job addressed (ie) the shells , could be done by a fair few garage's with good experience

i'll be honest though i would not continually drive the car the way it is , and try and find the most experienced local garage that can help providing you only want to go down that avenue

That's about a grand cheaper than Ztech. You wouldn't want to take your car there! LOL
