Off to florida with my girlfriend on 1st August for 2 weeks. Doing the usual a few theme parks and a day in the kennedy space center, would have seen the shuttle launch on the 6th august but they have just postsponed it for a couple of weeks. Also going to daytona for a high speed passenger ride in a nascar.

We saw that they have a car show each weekend in the old town so we definitely going to that.

Just wondered if anyone has been and have any other recommendations of places to go while out there.

 

Oh wanted to drive to Z1 to have a look around but the girlfriend doesn't want to do the long drive of 5 hours each way :( Personally i can's see the problem. :D

I've never been to U.S.A, only ever been to Europe, but hoping to get to Vegas this year with my mates for a 40th Birthday outing :)

I would love to go to the Space Centre! Seeing a Shuttle launch would be awesome!!

the old town cars are really good theres some really good cars there and the owners are really freindly too (i dare you to go on the bungie). driving there is great i loved it i went to daytona in my Hummer H2 its about an hours drive i drove to miami and key west too which was along way but the roads are that straight and the traffic was free flowing its wasn't a problem. i went to universial and disney and loved them both, i love florida great people, great places to go,great food, great weather (not the hurricanes) and is not what you think america is going to be like

I have been to Florida too, visited the usual resorts, sea world was my favorite, well worth a look. Drove down to Miami, but didnt think much of that tbh...anyway you will love it have a great time:)

Yeah we were there this time 4 yr ago, did the usual parks, got married etc lol. The old town car meet is good. Make sure you go to a few water parks to, typhoon lagoon was my fav. We were there when the shuttle was supposed to be launched, sat for 6 hrs then they delayed it an we were home by the time it launched.

we stayed on International drive and everything is pretty close to that.

Theres a nice little gunshop on orange blossom trail about 10min off int drive, for $40 you can fire all sorts of handguns if you want to try or like that sort of thing.

Florida is awesome!! Make sure you go to old town on Saturday night at about 7ish for the car parade. Some awesome old school hot rods!!!!

great night out, especially if you catch a cruise night

been a few times..great but the afternoon rain storms can get old. the 1st time i ever went we rented fully dressed harley's for 3 weeks and went up to north and south carolina..awesome;)

another thing worth doing is the indoor sky diving on international drive. Only if you get a rainy day that is.

Will try some of the places suggested. I think we are going to stay local and not travel too much, only to space center and daytona.

What ever i miss will then give me an excuse to go again ;)

you will go again you wont even scratch the surface of what florida has to offer. i've been twice one holiday and one to get married in Disney and i will be going again

yep florida is cool even if the drivers cut u up on the last countdown marker for each exit!
