Hi Legrath - how are you getting on with the Twinz? Any update?

They have'nt replied to my last emails :(

would it not best getting a group up when the lwb one is done to. bigger market etc

It's a shame that they decided to make the first one for the smaller market SWB. Am sure they would have had twice as many sales for the larger market. IF they ever got round to doing the LWB version then I'm still stuffed as I need one for a wide arch, although would consider bying a standard LWB & customising it to fit a WArch

^^ As above. The twinz guys designed and built it for the SWB market in North America as that's about 75% of it. They got the SWB Targa TT and NA, SWB slicktop NA and the cabriolet NA. The 2+2 was NA only and not as popular.

I ment for over here. Wait till they do the lwb. then once it is up and running do the group buy for the SWB and LWB

so in the uk it will be a bigger market

The market is small here, the amount of people who'll want to spend between £750 and £1k on a bumper when a lot of people are too cheapskate to spend on basic maintenance or moan at the cost of a set of brakedisks.... will be miniscule.

i think you'll find the swb is the larger market in the us?

cheers didn't know that :blushing:

still from reading all the related threads both UK & US it looks unlikley to happen very quickly which is a shame as it look much much better than most aftermarket panels

They've been building this rear bumper or rather refining it for the past 2 years I think. They have a ghastly front bumper that's been out a while and copied by Zcentre. Horrible looking thing that is, but the rear is much nicer and more inkeeping.

I was speaking with Twinz about a direct deal on the SWB items that should bring the price down a fair bit, but unfortunatly they have gone quiet.

There has not been an announced date for the LWB version yet, could be a loooooooooong way off unfortunatly, based on their history so far.

im no fabricator or fibre glasser but surely someone over hear could make that??? & by the looks of it at a hell of a profit....in walks Car.Mad!!!

Not a good idea copying peoples work like that, might be part of the reason why they are not keen to let many go if people keep copying their work. Didnt someone copy their front bumper and stuff them over? I might be wrong but if I had put all that work in I would want to see something for it.

I would imagne half the problem lies in the fact that the 2+2 has the fuel tank at the back end making the installation of a central diffuser difficult without lowering the stance of the bumper by a margin. Much the same issue that stuffed up my plans of having a nicely positioned backbox. Now I'm going for a side exit so shouldn't be as much of a problem ;)

if it aint released over here it aint copying ;-) as u would be the first in the uk plus it dont have to be identical there;s not much to copy tbh its just a difuser but smoothed & blended in (i know its more than that but in laymen terms)

Not really an issue. The stock bumper sits lower than the fuel tank and the Twinz bumper already sits even lower still. What has delayed any start on a LWB version is that there is less than a handfull of Z's in Peru, and apparantly all including TwinZ's, are SWB. Plus its a small market compared to the SWB.

That is one of thre major concerns Twinz have about distributing to the UK , and why they have been trying to find a reliable UK supplier. This is what happened last time when Zcentre copied their front design.

then they need to bulk sell them if they aim on selling 50 units lets say in the uk then they should make & supply them in one go rather than one here & there ...this way if it does get copied the've made there money & wont be too bothered or beter still get a uk patent

For all you Estate owners, the 2+2 version is completed !

Just wanted to give you a couple of news...

1. TwinZ Design 2+2 rear bumper with diffuser is finally done and we are currently making the matrix to start production next week...We have learned a lot while making the 2 seater version so the production of these bumpers will be a lot faster.

Here's a comparison pic...

I'll be posting more pics of the 4 seater bumper in the next few days...Stay tuned!

That does look very good! Damn, their front bumper is soooooooo damn fugly though. They worked genius into the rear bumper though. :)

Looks awesome. Would have been handy if we didnt need to deal with Z1 as an intermediate though.
