shouldnt be out trying to add 3k to a cars value!

What??? I've added £1800 on what it owes me and its more than worth it. I got it WELL underpriced, I've not put it up overpriced, big difference.

As nick said above he is spot on. If he bought it for £1000 then there is no chance in hell you would sell it again for 1k if it is worth 4k?? who in there right mind would/could afford to do that

IMO as i have seen this car and sat in it, It is a very well maintained and a super example and worth every penny of the 4K

As we all know you get what you paid for ;)

Let it run for a day, see what people have to say, thanks mate :)

Okay maybe i should rephrase that to adding 3k to the purchase value, especially just a few weeks after you bought it. Circumstances or not which ever angle you play it, it doesnt look good.

I suppose if anything i feel sorry for the guy you bought it from, as he's the one thats loosing out, if it really is worth £4800.

Come off the idea of what it owes you, hell if we all tried to sell cars for what they owed us no one would ever sell anything! Hell id have been looking for 10k for an elderly tired 92 tt before christmas lol.

Fact of the matter is it appears that you paid 1800, and a few weeks later your trying to sell for 4800, surely you cant say that looks good?

Oh completely, his circumstances of needing a very quick sale was my fortune.

LOL my first silver Zed owed me about 18k and I sold it for for about 5k, cos that was what it was worth not what it owed me, and its the same with this car, I have it for sale it its value, nothing more nothing less.

And how does it look bad exactly? People may look and think "Bloody hell Nick's making a few quid there" but I'm dont see what you mean by it looks bad exactly?

Maybe its just me, I just wouldnt feel comfortable I dont think selling it and making a profit of someone else' circumstances. Perhaps unnatural!

Perhaps im just old fashioned and have the idea that "I will loose every penny i put into a car and some" LOL which is what has happened on every car i've ever had!

You need to learn to buy better lol :D

What a tragic thread-started out nicely and then went straight down hill. Some people really can't keep their noses out can they. Good luck with the sale of what appears o be a very nice Z.

Thanks fella, its part of bing on here. I've got the right hump right now but I also know in the back on my mind what a great read this is for the neutrals its threads like this that keeps the forum going. lol

Well I'm off for a drive in the now infamous £4800 Zed to calm to fook down, if one Essex Chav so much as looks at me funny I think a night in the cells might be on the cards for me lol

for what it´s worth ( just a registered user) I agree with "takemetothepub"

If someone sold you a ferrari 430 for 20 grand because they really needed the money, you wouldn´t, when it came to selling it say " I only paid 20 grand, give me 18 when the car is worth loads more.

just my 2pence worth

The wind is blowing in your face and your trying to spit! lol

Thanks mate :duffer:

for whats its worth i dont really care if the car sells for 2p, £2k or £10k it was the amount of time the car was kept that i would have been concerned which to be fair nick has explained

Just had nick come to my house and take me out in his car so i could see how the car drives as i have never been in one before and offered to come and look over a car with me when i find one .

top man ,cheers Nick.

Kev.

So what did you think to this Z? forgetting all that has been said on this thread - things have been clearly stated and I remain a neutral lol - do you just want to shop around before taking the plunge?

This is the first Z i have actually been up close to and driven in and is a totally different drive to my impreza much more refined and not such a frantic drive much more relaxed but with but with plenty of power when you put your foot down , nice and spacious inside with that supercar feel unlike my impreza, functional but bland so will definately be looking at some more Zs as for nick's i think enough has been said and i whish all the best with the sale.

Kev.

Well im sure everyone on the forum can say when you look at the pictures and spec the car has there isnt one person on hear who wouldnt list it in excess of the 4k mark i think.

The car does look great and as he has now cleared up about his need to sell so quickly after buying then its clear its a genuine sale and basically there is what looks an immaculate zed now up for sale.

And basically if you liked the car kev and enjoyed the drive and found everything ok and are willing to pay around the asking price then go for it....certainly looks worth the cash.

All the best with selling the car and hope you get what you want for it.

As far as I can see you sell your car at what its worth if the zed had of been bought for 5grand then put up for sale at £4800 no one would say any thing but because it was bought at a bargan price this should not affect its true price its still worth over 4grand imo. This is a very open fourm and we can all speak our minds which leads to people falling out but at the end of the day that is the price we pay for printing our thoughts on a public fourm, I have a very lengthy thread on my zed being damaged with picks if I ever sell my zed I will never be able to hide the fact it was in an accident (not that I ever want to sell it)so dont fall out guys and the zed in question is worth every penny of 4grand plus, doesnt matter what was paid for it and how long it was owned if it was mine I wouldnt take a penny under 4g.

Just read the advert....very well written. Looks to me like an excellent example well worth £4500-5k:)

Looks to be in a very similar condition/state to my Zed, which I would not let go for any less than that no matter how long it would take. If its worth it - its worth it.

Seems to me that some members on here (this is not a dig BTW), under value our cars, selling good ones for bugger all like £1200-£1500. I know they are old now, but they are not rusty old Novas/fiestas/escorts etc. There is very little to touch them in the price region of £5k when you factor the looks, performance and equipment levels. And the attention they draw.

I know Ebay specials don't help:xxx:, but if we as 300zx enthusiasts don't value them correctly then nobody else will:(. If you have a good one and want to sell it, wait for somebody that wants a good one and let them pay well for it. If we all do this then the value of these cars should start to creep back to a respectable figure:D. I know they will never make us rich, but stop selling them for peanuts!!

These cars, specifically well looked after standard and tastefully modded ones are special - remember this. They are not just any old car.

In time (years), I feel that some of us my look at various car ads and kick ourselves - they will at some point start to gain value and be worth some.

Have to say; That zed looks a very nice tidy example and worth the 4k. You could easily spend over that just bringing a cheaper zed up to that standard! The price he paid for it is irrelevant, would you not buy a car off a dealer because he had just bought it for a lot less than you? Why should it be any different for a private seller?

Well I'm all calm now and thanks for all the input from everyone good and bad, thats what this forum is about, when people ask we tell! :D

Now this is done and dusted if someone asks again hopefuly we can stick more to what the car is like rather than who bought it for what in the past :)

Also nice to meet you Kev, as I said if you find a car local and you want a pair of eyes to look it over with you you have my number fella :duffer:
