With overdrive turned off, you should notice the revs are higher. I used to turn it off in my skywhine when I wanted a more spirited drive, then turn it on when I was just cruising or saving fuel :)

turning over drive off gives you more engine braking ability and better for town driving, overdrive on for cruising and saving fuel lol, i wont make alot of difference really,

turning cruise on with the pod control should give a green light on the dash to tell you its activated, then pressing set on the steering wheel should light the other green bulb next to it, does this happen?

the first green button comes on saying cuise control, but when i get to say 60 and take my foot off the accelerator i press "set" but nohing happens

you need to keep your foot on the accelerator pedal and then push the set button, if it's working correctly you will feel the cruise control take over and a second green light will come on.

cruise control will not work below 40 mph. If you are still in kph then 60kph is about 37mph

HTH

Cruise control has a limit of 70mph on the imported cars, unless the speedo has been converted with a MPH 2 KPH box at the back of the unit in which case the limit for cruise control is raised.

I have a Jap import with UK clocks and the cruise control is limited to 70mph.

TBH sounds like yours doesn't work. Try activating it at say 50mph using the set button with your foot under the brake pedal pulling it firmly towards you. If it works then the switch at the back of the pedal needs adjusting as it will be making or actually breaking the circuit at normal pedal rest position stopping the cruise from activating. When I bought my car the cruise control wasn't working and it was this switch, but my switch was simply broken....I bridged it out to confirm and cruise worked! You might try this, but don't leave it bridged.
