Welcome mate. Get a project thread mate up and get some pictures up:D!

Welcome, auto boxes are prone to fail in the end , you could get a second hand box, or consider a manual convertion ?:D

Welcome to the club. As said before tired autos are pron to fail so id go for a manual conversion (abit pricey tho) but if you need a good autobox iv got one for 250

whats this i hear about a project thread??? might do this myself but first i have heared of it

:slap:

Mines in the Journel Section in the Members only part of the club.

There arnt many of us in there (4 I think) so it would be nice to have a few more there, otherwise this section might be removed like the old journel section was :headvswal

Looks a nice Z you got there mate , you should be able to get a second hand box relatively cheap , may be worth while using this time to convert though?, as obviously a second hand unit has no cast iron guarantees’ of a long life either

you got any other plans modification wise ?

I certainly wouldnt say it looks like a tired zed...Looks not to bad to me matey.

i was looking to go up to about 400bhp, as i still wanna keep it as an everyday runner.

it does have some problems atm though like i said autobox dead, the cat temp light comes on on start up and flickers on and off, some sort of burning smell which i thought was the auto box but could be the cats thinking about it now and the temp guage on the dash flickers up and down like crazy :)

get a manual if your going for that power instead of an auto, you will enjoy it more.

Sounds good mate , mine's an n/a so not much chance of 400bhp lol,

(Unless i win the lotto)

these are all common issues to an extent you're seeing though, and issues that there is a fair bit of info regarding on the site

regarding the temp gauge's though there inaccurate at the best of times, not sure on the bouning though sender poss? so most go for after market gauges

although mine seems to work fine ?!
