Firstly, since getting my zed, it had a few probs, but with some tlc, and care its been getting better and better.

It has been running perfectly for last 6 months, no probs with anything and is a dream to own.

Last night, went out for a quick beer, weather was good, cant deny it, i drove hard maybe too hard. Got back and let it cool down.

Until just now.

Go to get a paper. Turn the key, and the most god awful whine and clatter is coming from starter motor.

After a few heated words with each other, she aint playing.

Jack up and have a look.

Fooking top bolt on the starter has fallen off somewhere, thus the teeth are not engaging, hence the dam noise. Now will have to re tap a new one in

I think its the zeds way of telling me, dont p**s me off, as i will win in the end mate.

Look after them and they will look after you, fook about and they will get you back.:wack::wack:

I never push it to hard. Something will always give sooner or later.

But that starter motor bolt is really common. there are loads of threads about it :)

Ive had that exact drama had to retap out to a M12 and and moditfy the starter motor flange. Also mine decided to split the starter motor flange in half before i found out i was missing a bolt so ur lucky you found it first. Been good ever since used tap set from halfords about 20-30 quid worked a treat
