My memory aint what it used to be :)

Does the roof liner have to be completely removed or can it be dropped enough to get to the nuts?

Cheers

neither mate. you can get to the bolts without removing the liner.

Although 2 people will help and a broom to hold up the tailgate once you remove the weight holding bar type things :)

Its not a bad job at all. just take all the trim off its easier to feed the wiring through. bolts can be a ball ache to get in when putting the replacement back on so be careful not to cross thread them. More people you get to hold the thing still and upright the better ;)

The roof liner does have to be removed/ pulled down slightly to get to the 4 bolts???

Not on mine i didnt mate. removed the stays, elevated the tailgate as far as it would go so you could see the bolts and used a ring/open ended spanner to undo them. didnt have to touch the roof lining.

If you undo the outside bolts, you will have to line up the boot again. If you do the inside ones, there is no adjustment on them ;) Might not make a difference to you as you may have to line the new boot up anyway.

yes, just looking at the pictures now (figure F). flick to the previous page to see the location

I did mine from the inside. so the hinges were left on the boot.

Remove 2 caps on the inside. then undo the 2 philips screws. slide out the metal bar (held on by the scews) and pull the liner down slightly. then use a 14mm spaner i think

The wires are a pita to do

That would make sense. Although my new tailgate lined up fine without adjustment needed :)
