Hi All, thinking of upgrading the chip on my z, got an air filter fitted and thinking of exhaust soon, is there a plug and play ecu for a little extra boost but nothing excessive? and maybe a remap? does anyone know where i can buy one from?

Featured Replies

Speak to either John Dixon, AndyP or DTA who can replace the chip in your ECU with a remapped version for around 70-120 pounds.

The chip itself does not offer more boost though, it only provides improved mapping to cater for increased boost.

You can increase the boost with either a Pair of Boost jets (mig welding tips) or an Electronic Boost controller.

hi all, so looks like ill be fitting a boost controller then lol, what boost on standard turbos can i got safely? also dont want to spend a fortune on the controller only want to spend about £150 any good ones out there for this money? also what they like to fit? easy to install?

Greddy Profec B spec II seems to be the best option. I have one and is a great bit of kit. Search on e-bay and google, should get one for £150-£200. There are many write ups on here for a fitment guide too. As for boost on standard tubs, 14/15 psi max, keep your 300 engine healthy.

very nice, can get one for £265 from ebay. how do you fit it? does it require any adapter cables? could someone who hasnt fitted one before do it?

Keep searching buddy, you will get it alot cheaper, but takes time on the web. It will come with the fitting kit and installation guide, maybe you might need some extra vac/boost lines, 6/7mm i think, and yes you can fit yourself, takes approx 1 day, but at least you know it will be fitted correctly. I got a local mech to fit mine and he plumbed in to only one tub!!! Took me 1/2 day to sort out.
