anyone know how to wire up a turbo timer, or could do me a step by step??? or is this a specialists job?

 

ps sorry for all the threads but i have only just got my car and trying to sort it all this month before i put it on the road :-)

mind if i hop on your post? :-) i also have one in my car however it was wired wrong from previous owners and so it has been deactivated (something to do with tripping the immobilizer)

 

if we could both get info here then we would most likely BOTH be greatful :-)

 

do you already have one jonny? if so what make is it? i think mine was a bog standard cheapo

i have one but not had a proper look over it yet, have no idea what make it is as it came out of a nissan family wagon thingy, i got it off a neighbour for free

that is very nice of your neighbour :-)

 

all i know (or have heard) about turbo timers with z's is that thay can be a pain in the arse. especially if you have an imobilizer as they can trip them off.

 

another problem is if your imobilizer is set to kick in in 10,20,30 secs etc and your turbo timer wants atleast a minute before shutting down the imobilizer will cut dead the power and your car will turn off without the necessary cooling down. (this is what happens with mine)

 

i need to find the PROPER way of wiring it into the system

hmmm sounds like it makes sense, yeh the neigbour took it out of his as he didnt need it, but it was a factory fitted one by nissan for his wagon, but should hopefully do the same job on my car :)
