how can i resove this? injectors not working - electrical prob

cars been down garage, and theyv had RAC diagnostic thing onit aswell.

the injectors are not working, not clicking, and not getting power/earth.

ive done a NA to TT conversion, kept the NA loom. using the TT ECU

ive changed the connections on the front 4 injectors.

the ECU is not showing any error codes.

the injectors were working fine before i did the swap, as the engine is from my old car, as is the ECU.

do i need a new loom? im about to give up on the car :(

If you can get hold of a replacement CAS, I would try that. Also, have somebody wiggle the entire loom in different places while you are trying to start it.

The electric auxillery fan is'nt coming on when you turn the ignition is it ?

Pull out the Fuel pump fuse (in the small fuse box by the Brake booster, its the one closest to the engine, on the end). Then try starting it again a few times, just in case it is actually getting fuel but has flooded.

Its difficult for others to diagnose a fault like this over the Internet, the trouble being that its hard to know if each test is being done correctly and that the correct results are being interpreted.

I think your going to have to make arrangements with a Z specialist to look over the car.

Try - Ztech, Zedworld, Jimmer, SWZ ...etc

So the ECU socket / plug was OK and not broken (pins not pushed back inside the connector)? It's about the only thing I can think of that would affect 6 injectors.

If you come down I can test the ecu on mine and lend you a CAS to take back and try?

thanks for the reply guys,

na the aux fan is not coming on when ignition (so its not the temp sensor)

im miles and miles from a Z specialist, im in soith wales.

ive re-sit the ECU, i didnt check if the pins had come out tho, doubt that tho.

the CAS i beleive is working, as the car has spark.

Ant, il give you a txt, and try my ECU on yours. then also have a lend of your cas. but like i said, CAS & ECU was working fine before.

ive tried the NA ECU and that didnt work either, unless ive shorted the injector wires when swapping the conenctions?

how can i tell if i have connected the + and - to the correct terminals on the injectors?

( incase anyones reading, this is an old thread, i got it sorted with new injector conenctors) :)

Ztech (Chris Scaife) Ripped me off a few thousand quid and ruined my car, the guy is a Conman and a liar...

( incase anyones reading, this is an old thread, i got it sorted with new injector conenctors) :)

Glad you got it sorted, but am amazed that six connectors fail in one hit and that the RAC guy got no signals/voltage when he tested.

he only tested the front 4, as the back 2 are a little dificult to get at.

i had removed the origonal conenctor, then tried making my own with speaker spades. which wernt good enough.

but before i even did this the conenctors were so bad it wouldnt start/idle on 1 cylinder.

fresh connectors sorted it all :)

How did it go??

passed on the emissions now :)

il get the CO reading when im down the garage to see what te figure was.

gota bit of a power steering issue preventing MOT but nearlt through :)

  • Author
whats the PS issue?

hmm well im not sure tbh?

since ive done the swap, the pump started making a whining, then the whinning stopped, but the power steering went also.

there was fluid in there, must have a leak? or the pump is nackard.

(theres nothing else that could be wrong really)

did you bleed the system (topping up whilst going lock to lock) ?

possibly not, i had a garage to do the swap as i dindt have a crane,

the PS fluid WAS drained, and new stuff in (as i went from Hicas to non hicas)

the cars down the garage so il have a suggestion when im down.

1 thing ive noticed is how hot the PS pot gets though? is it supost to get hot? mine was nearly boiling after about 4-5 minutes of the car being started?

also there was a slight leak, but there was fluid in the system.

its down the garage at the mo, so il ask them if they notice anything there, and maybe suggest that. should it maje the whining noise tho even if theres air in the system?
