Hi guys been on the forum a while but only just got round to buying my first Z , i have 2 Bov's that need fitting, just wondering are they easy to do yourself or would i have to take it to a garage, and how long roughly does it take an average person to do?? :D Love the new car by the way, gives me a big grin everytime i drive it.

Just take the old recircs out and fit them in same place.Dont forget to attach vac pipe and bung the other two holes up.About an hour should do it.

yea easy really,

just a bit potchy to get in there with the bumper and filter in the way.

easier to remove the headlight panel in the muiddle, and the filter/AFM

can get at the re-circs bit easier then

Can you post a pic matey they sound like they go on the plennum intakes get a pic up so we can direct u in the right way matey

yep even easier, they simply replace the outer two big hoses in the engine bay, but you have to remove the recircs and run a breather hose either from the balance bar or the recirc top

hmmm ok i understood the first part about replaceing the pipes but the part about running a breather hose from the balance bar or the recirc(which i take is the posh name for a dump valve or bov) is there a how 2 guide anywhere on her ive had a quick search but couldnt find anything or is it self explanetary when it comes to doin it?

its a fairly straight forward job.

firstly offer up the "hard pipes", as in your dump valve pipes, to the four main hard pipes at the front of your engine to see which ones they replace.

replacing is as easy as taking off the jubblie clips and pulling the buggers off.

now, on each DV there will be a small vac pipe which needs to be conected to the intake one way or another. the easyest will be to trace back the original recirc vac pipe and find where it connects to the plenum or balance bar then connect the DV vac hose to there instead.

as for the OE recircs, some people have left them in place with no probs and others have blanked them.

to blank them, just remove the units and pulg or cap the holes they have left in the pipe work.

:)
