Hey all, doing my manwell conversion, just wondering, has anyone got any tips for removing the auto pilot/spiggot bushing? Nightmare, doesn't wanna budge!!!

You gota chisel it all the way through so it colapses on itself, but dont damage the crank lol.

a slide hammer with an internal jaw attachment small enough to fit will do it

Yeah that sounds like a better method.

fill it with grease and get a shaft like an hold bolt that fits in tight then hit it with an hammer and hydraulic it out

+1 ;)

This is the perfect way to do it. It does not damage the crank or the soft bushing either. It will be totally reusable if you follow this method.

athe auto box crank doesn have a brass bush.

It has a steal bush much larger on the outer edge of the crank.

chissel it at an angle around its edges and it will come out smoothly.

then fit brass manual bush before fitment of manual box.

That's exactly what it is, or was :-) Doing a manwell conversion, had the big steel bad boy wedged in, but, managed to eventually drill it in 2 places and collapse it in on it's self, ball ache, but job done, and done well, new brass bushing in place now, which compared to the steel jobby will be a piece of p1ss to remove...... :-)

Cheers guys.....
