Not sticking up for anyone here. But I do have respect for the police. They do a hard job and I bet the guy was asking for it. What we don't see is what happened before this incident. I don't think the police would do anything untoward if they could see it being filmed at least.

Bit OTT but as Si says you don't know what had previously happened, you'd like to think they reacted to the situation in the correct way not just trying out their latest gadget.

This 1 for me is classic!! All hell had been breaking loose all day this Woman provokes and confronts the cop is told to get back (TWICE) and continues to approach so is slapped and told AGAIN to go away then after EVEN MORE aggressive behaviour from her towards the Policeman he pulls out his baton (apparently 1 more warning) then BAM!!

Now if i had been told that many times to Go away and got smacked i would think i deserved it! Some may say Excessive force but everyone knows people think the police are a joke and this lady was made an example of and i still reckon he should has been given a bloody Medal :) Well maybe not a medal but defiantly a Bonus for that!

That is all :)

I've never had any issues with the police, because I haven't been stupid enough to get involved with anything like that or any provocation. IMO, most of it is all brought upon themselves.

If you're civil with the police and show a bit of respect, they have absolutely no reason to even look at you.

Reading the BBC website it would appear the guy had a run in with bouncers and assaulted an officer, and resisting arrest whilst on the ground, he got what he asked for imo, police acted accordingly, if people didnt get drunk and disorderly and go on one in a busy town centre like Nottingham these kinds of things wouldn't happen.

The police are telling him to put his arms out to be cuffed........ he is not ...... he gets tased.... whats the problem???

If the police tell you to do something and you don't there's got to be some sort of consequences..... be it Baton/taser/firearm.... or you could say please and maybe offer an icecream :xxx:

TBH, I think in some situations, the police need to be more heavy handed. People seem to be able to get away with murder now...not literally, but verbal they get and the crap they have to put up with, mainly due to the pathetic drinking culture this country seems to have adopted.

well if they did a good job then they got nothing to worry about when they get investigated! NOT! bit over the top i think.

lol! - very middle aged response in all, my fault, i should'v realised most of you havent come into contact with a real police officer in many years now, unfortunately my generation (the tossers) are now (sadly) working 'on the force' and are more bent, dodgy, dangerous, angry and suffering from what i call 'short man syndrome' than ever before and feel the need to assert there pathetic ego upon the general public which is fine on the idiots who drive saxos into walls and rob old lady's but not to the rest of us trying to get by - yes its a job yes its a tough one, but if your not cut out for it then why join? what is seen in those pictures are examples of unintelligent lower class scum bags dressed as police officers retaliating as if they were in school.......... if i was alone in this thought process it would not be front page news and it would not be a major issue, i deal with the police on a nightly basis and as some of you said there just doing there job...... the police force wasn't just a job it was a way of life, 30 40 years ago EVERYONE had respect for the police because there was no media coverage of the shit ones i guess mainly but subsequently when you came to one for advice or to ask for directions in the street or whatever you got a very polite well spoken answer, now your just as likely to be told to **** off...... maybe its a sign on the times, but the more this sort of shite is publicized the less of this country we'll have left in 50 years time the police should'v never lowered them selves to this standard, some high up people probably think this attitude helps public relations and bridges the gap in class's, however when a copper open his mouth and sounds like an angry young chav i instantly loose all respect for them, but all you can do is sit back and blame my generation.....lol!! funny old world aint it...

100% behind the police you break the law or try to intiminate the law keepers be prepared to face the consequences:nono:

Just because something is law, don`t mean it`s necessarily right or just, sometimes they have to be broken or we`d all end up like 1984 etc. it`s only fellow humans we put in charge after all. I`ll be buggered if brown tells me what to do with my life. Do unto others n all that.

1984... book obviously

I'm from Nottingham and the guy getting tasered lives near me. A middle aged repeat offender, waster, offers nothing to society and now a group of honest, hardworking people could lose there jobs because of him and he will probably get shitloads of compo. Should have just shot the dick and done the world a favour.

Mmmmmm, just as I thought! Cheers for the background info.

When you look into the background of these people they are normally all the same. The woman at the G20 protest for instance, mid 30's shoplifter and crack addict.

They nearly always deserve it and if it wasnt for the bleeding heart liberal groups in the first place, makign the police do there jobs with hands tied behind there backs, alot of these people probably wouldn't get to the stage where they need to be tasered.

And film! It`s a shame that there`s always such a kneejerk reaction to these sort of things, in my time on this earth i`ve realised that the majority of these peeps deserve what they`re getting, but that`s not always the case so a gathering of all the facts is needed before some twit makes an issue of it on the web just cos they have a personal grudge. Sadly though the amount tosser coppers i`ve met far outway the good uns and i`m always guarded around them. Old Peeler must be turning in his grave.
