Christ; Lexus Soarers/SC300s are getting cheaper than Z32s now!

I've always liked the Soarer and considered one ever so briefly for a while. Seem to be really taking hit on values now. I know this one is still at auction, but others just aren't getting bids and are selling for peanuts.

A few nasty mods on here, but the hard work is done and the V8 is a great engine. Some nice engine options from factory for the Soarer. Shame the V8 is auto only, but I am sure someone knows the correct gearbox to use for a manual conversion.

I suppose the Soarer is even less of a 'known' as the Z32. Hardly any about and I see them less than I see Z32s. There are sod all for sale anymore.

Stuff like this was always an inspiration.

A friend bought a V8 for 800 last year. They dont really appeal to me, a kind of japanese Jag xjs.

The blue and white one look pretty good above, but they dont look as good stock.

1jzgte is also very good. Been in a 450 odd horse atw and was rapid with little lag. My choise out the engines. Was going to buy ma70 2.5 tt areo, real good mis understood motor too.

I can't see the appeal of those at all i'm afraid.

I drive a Zed. Says it all really:nana2:

I do know the model, and like the shape but as you ay Si you don’t see many about so don’t think there a very known car

I've seen 2 i think in the past 5 yrs !

Ditto with Alan. I've liked Soarers for a while but prefer them modified. Nothing hideously ostentatious, just a set of deep dish rims and a very subtle kit to give them more road presence. Very nice cars if you're looking for something in a "luxury" barge...I could bring these over all day, seven days a week from my car import/export buddy in Japan but, as you say, the market value over here is astronomically bad.

I really like the soarer. That one has quite a few quid spent on it. It will be interesting to see what it goes for.

I like these but they look quite dull standad, a subtle kit makes all the difference, but they look like an overweight 200sx and probably half the fun to drive.

If you get a later one 1997 i believe they come with the later 2jzegte vvti (sp)

Basically the supra tt engine.

I don't like supras that much but there engines are most solid from stock of the big four that i have read, could be a bargain at those kind of prices.

Ripe for putting into something old to scare the be-jesus out of someone!!

They had the 1jz engine 2.5L. Still mega strong engine with 450-500 bhp fwhp on standard internals. They do suffer with full exhaust upgrades thats why you find loads converted to single turbo. The twin turbo set up has to have bang on flow rates and the standard exhaust is pretty much bang on.

One thing i've come across is that these were never called lexus in JDM form but Toyota, so why do people rebadge them as Lexus, a brand which was only available in USDM and would be LHD.

me neither.

Big.. bulky.. even worse than the skyline.:hurl:

I dont do four seat family motoring in any shape or form:nono:

No, just normally aspirated slow-mobiles. ;)

test drove a v8 before i got the z, looked nice and ace interior but one i tried sounded like a cement mixer full of nuts n bolts, didn't go woosh like z either and kids thought it looked orible

I quite like these, their is an Aristo & a Gs430 where I live tuned up at some car modding place. They are like rocket ships and sound amazing. Very understated.
