Got an absolute bargain at my local dealer, brand new.

2.8 diesel with 3 piece removable targa type panels and hardtop.

Roof and doors come off and windscreen folds down. What the fook you do with them then I don't know

Exactly the same as the one in the pics, the RRP is £22K

Part ex'd my Clio Sport 172 (which I have had trouble selling for £2K) and £10K cash :D

That's about half price

Yes it's a deal that's on at the moment before they go bust I think LOL

Still got a bit more off the price and some extra's thrown in.

If our other car had been a month older it would have been under the scrappage scheme and got another £2K off and the car is only worth about £800.

Wow! Would they have actually have scrapped the Clio if it had been that bit older? Makes me wonder what cars are now going to the scrapyard if indeed that is what's actually happening to the more sporty and tidy cars.

It's a real shame to be honest.

They are scrapping anything that's worth less than £2K or even a bit more that people just want to get rid of because they can't sell.

It's hardly environmentally friendly to scrap a perfectly good car, especially small engined stuff but it's selling a lot of cars.

Wouldn't surprise me if dealers aren't using the scheme behind the scenes if the government are giving that cash towards it and they find a trade in hard to shift that's 10 years old.

Apparently the scrappage budget has almost gone already because there's been a massive response.

To be honest they're so desperate to shift cars you can get that money off anyway with a bit of haggling which is what I did.

My 4 litre V8 Discovery with 150K on the clock is 12 years old but I've only had it 9 months and you have to own it 12 to be allowed to scrap it :(

Stupid when the alternative is to scrap my Clio or 1.1L Fiat Seicento Sporting that's like new with 30K miles and far more efficient!

Can you get the same discounts off list price if you have the £2k scrappage thing?

I've seen some of the stuff you drive so you've no room to talk! LOL

Needed something big and reliable as a work utility vehicle and I've got the Z for performance and sporty looks :slap:

Bit different to the pickups and vans I was looking at for work use and should be great fun for the outdoors stuff we do in summer :D

Yes I was surprised.

I could have traded in 3 old cars and scrapped one and still got all the discounts :o

Quite like it in this blue but they don't do it in the UK:
