Unfortunately, i had a bit of an incident with a traffic light on friday night.

I was coming out of tesco on friday night and was sat at the set of traffic lights, at a stand still.

They changed to green, bearing in mind it was Lashing down, I started to move forward while turning right. When my rear wheels crossed the metal drain covers, the back end kicked out to the left and started to spin. I steered into the slide and the car went broadside into the traffic light.

The N/S/F wing is completely crushed, the front bumper is hanging off, the bonnet is crumpled and the N/S/F inner wing has a bit of a rip in it. Also, the wheel is sitting further under the car than the top is, so im thinking suspension damage.

Things aint looking too good guys. I was quite optimistic about it being repairable but once i popped the bonnet and seen that the inner wing has a

crack in it, im not so sure. Quite worried now. :(

not as bad as it sounds, most of the panels of the zed are bolt on so easy accses to affected areas, it will be a write off ifgoing through i nsurance though

very easy to replace wing, bonnet and bumper. suspension could be expensive though

Unfortunately, it is. I couldnt afford to pay to fix the traffic light.

If it's written off, im gonna ask about buying it back. If they let me, i'm gonna be looking for a sound body with a knackered engine for a transplant!

oooh, i may have what ya need lol. i think you will pay around £400 for the car back, if they dont offer, make sure you ask before any action is taken

Thats a bummer fella !!:(

Stellaz is right, it is a rite-off. Mines was written off for a stupid wee ding in the rear panel, just between the rear lights and the bumper.

I had taken the rights to retain the salvage on my collectors policy, so was offered two choices. A lump sum, or a lower sum and keep the car, and it wasnt recorded !! Cat D.

Dont need to tell you what I chose !;)

Chin up fella, maybe time to think about the wide arch on the new shell ?:nelson: Might make enough from selling off bits and pieces from your old shell ? Every cloud and all that ! I aint a million miles away mate, so if I can help, just holler !!

FFS, no wonder insurance premiums are on the rise!!!

FFS, no wonder insurance premiums are on the rise!!!

FFS, its people like you that force people not to use insurance as it should, insurance rises because of the amount of tosspots that drive about without insurance crashing into innocent people like myself and causing damage to cars and injury to people, i was in agony for months and couldnt take time off work as its just me and the boss and would be hard, i thought well i may aswell get a bit of a pyout as i actually payed extra for the personal cover as i always do, i paid so there for be covered

some people should wind their necks in FFS:headvswal:headvswal:headvswal

How on God's green earth can you tell me that after suggesting he go and make a fictitious claim? Jesus wept Allan!

Infact you're incorrect. Premiums have risen as a large proportion of people are set in this 'compensation culture'.

did i say go and make a claim up, i asked if he had a claim in and he may think that as no other person is involved that he may not be able to claim, you pay for the cover so why not try if you are in pain, you really should read my posts properly and think before posting a reply like that si

Maybe you should structure your post a little bit better. You suggested putting a claim in for whiplash.

nice bit of edit there si, there are a lot of ficticious claims about, im not saying he make one

you really need to start thinking about your outlandish replys si, you may start upsetting people with your not very well thought out remarks

Absolutely NOT as outlandish as suggesting putting a claim in for whiplash on a minor collision. I've HAD people try to pull that one on me!

your reply should have maybe said, "allan are you suggestion a ficticous claim", then my reply would have been "sorry, never thought about what i was typing"

but alas, you jumped in with FFS this and FFS that blah blah and so on

never mind, im sure you meant well
