As you may know from prev posts I'm currently on the look out for my fist Z:hyper:

I've seen one listed as a fresh import at a dealer. My question is, is there any work the dealer should have carried out to make it legal over here. I'm thinking headlights mph conversion etc. Or are they usually full jap spec and it's down to me to make the changes.

If so what do I need to be aware of.

Muchas gracias

A good importer will change the plates, do all the registration for you, add a fog light (in what form differs), possibly change the ecu mapping for our lower octane fuel. Car ideally should come with the auction papers showing condition as well.

In addition to what you'd expect from a dealer.

If it's from japan, they drive on the same side as us so the headlights are fine

The underneath of the car will need to be undersealed too, they don't put salt on there roads over there due to the weather, which can rot it over here.... (I think?)

give me £2700 for mine, get to zedworld and have a gaurenteed engine fitted for £1500, or even cheaper, get my engine repaired

The undersealing is universal across the Z32 range and they do get winters as cold as norther Europe, they just use a crushed volcanic rock on their roads instead of rocksalt.

But always good to underseal a car of that age again.

Tempting......But then that would have been a waste of the £20 I spent on the Shammy leather bikini I bought for our lass.

No there's only one in the north east. It's my turn this Sunday....StellaZ gets her on Tuesday.

It's a bit like a library book, but once her arse is too full for any more stamps she gets replaced
