Hi people,

Ok, after having my engine rebuilt by jimmer  my oil temp seems to get a little high now and again, so i am gonna go for a larger oil cooler. I have seen some on e-bay, which are cheap, but want it to last and be good quality. Has anyone got an upgraded oil cooler fitted? If so, what did you go for, and what is the size of the fitments? Did you get the mounts with the new cooler? I want to buy 1 and be a direct fit. Mine is a Jap TT manual.

cheers peeps,

Al.

all purchased from merlinmotorsport.co.uk ..

lol thats a bit big? 30 row? might be overkill and will block the rad, the oil might struggle to get up to temp with that size, let us know how it goes mate.

iam running gt2871r's and trust me that will be just about enough .. vg's as u know can get really reaaaaally hot .. and also iam running Koyo 300ZX Racing Radiator so its size and thickness i think is suificient enough ..

yeah ul need it wwith those tubs lol, good job :D

In rally and touring car championship races cars only use a 10-row cooler which is MORE than sufficient. Even NASCAR racing only use 10-row coolers.

Alan, I've got a kit in storage which I'm looking to sell. Brand new and never used or mounted. I'll dig it up over the weekend and let you know what's what. Think it was a half-width 13-row cooler with all the adapters.

I'll get back to you.

Ok matey, let me know, with pics if poss, and if it looks good, with a good price to match i may have it.

Cheers matey,

Al.

thats the reason ive got that thermostat there ..

oooo yeah didnt see that thermostat, should work well then.

Im running a 235mm wide 19row Mocal Oil cooler - 19row is the size Nissan engineers used for the Nismo oil cooler.

used existing oil pipes, and just had to replace the short pieces with slightly longer versions inbetween the metal pipes on the crossmember and the oilcooler (you'll see what I mean if you take a look under the nose panel). Fabricated new bracket from sheet of 3mm Steel.

I would not go any larger, as you start to cause more of an obstruction to airflow to the Engine Coolant radiator.
