Just called elephant to inform them of a change to my number plate and the A#@% say i have to pay 14.50GBP for the privelage of them sending me out new documents. I certainly wont be going with elephant from now on. Im so pissed off.lol. Apparently this is cheap to get new documents but i think its Fing ridiculous they charge you considering the amount you pay for insurance considering my no claims etc!!!

Anyways teh hunt for a nice zed still goes on.lol. Had founda nice red one but has been sold and im trying to track down the new buyer.lol.

yeah, for an admin charge thats pretty reasonable. I'd expect a bill of £25 if I wanted to change any details. Its just one of those things! ;)

Hmm, think of it from a busines point of view, you cause extra work and you dont expect to be charged for it?

hardly extra work, change 7digits then press print.lol.

That's Britain for you!!

I'd of said "I'm surprised we don't get chraged to have a crap" but some people like to pay for that sort of thing:wack::nelson:

4 min operater on the phone + postage + stationary + printing costs.

Times that by 100 or so people a day all wanting it done and from a business stance it suddenly becomes a big expense that needs charging for!

Whereas I agree, in principle, with what you are saying, this is not how I see it.

At the start of the year we pay our insurance premium (or monthly, whichever) of anything from £100 right upwards. Now the majority of law abbiding average citizens don't need to make a claim (and I'm not trying to sugest that the ones that do are ciminals!) so the insurance company makes all that money for issueing you with five or so sheets of paper, and never talks to you again untill it's time to rip you off again next year, with an even bigger quote! I realise when someone makes a claim that what gets paid out is more than what that one person has paid in, but then the amount of 'paying in' out weighs the amount of 'paying out' in total!

ALL of the insurance companies are making a living out of it, otherwise they wouldn't be in business, now try to convince me that the odd time that they may have to change someones details during the year is going to put them out of business if they did it for FREE!! I don't think so, all IMHO ;)
