we cornwall members bin playing with the idea of some sort of a rally to raise money for our local CLIC (Cancel Leukemia in Children.)unit at treliske hospital, its an idea which we are hoping could be a yearly event some time in august would involve a small fee to enter you can be sponsord and perhaps a collection ALL MONEY goes to the CLIC UNIT. The idea is to leave somewhere in cornwall drive to perhaps bristol area meet up and maybe do something and drive back to cornwall where we would gather at Cornish Wreckers, he has a field which we can use to meet and anyone wanting to stay can camp, if your interested or got some ideas PLEASE let us know.

I think it's a good idea mate, maybe stick it in the general forum and hold the event in central England and you may get a better response.

 

These kind of things are big in the biking world, and generate a lot of interest

Sorry mate, Hadn't seen this... I'd be up for something like this, It sounds like a great idea... My folks live in Devon so wouldn't be to far a stretch to get down to Cornwall... Always up for a laugh, especially when it comes to Cars!!!!! And TBH there's no better place in the middle of summer than the Westcountry!!!

 

How about making it slightly more than just a car meet type thing... There was a biker gathering in Paignton recently and they had a load of events and displays... not saying you should do anything that big but possibly do things like a big BBQ, auto jumble etc? Maybe arrange pub games etc. It's amazing what people will do and how far they'll go to have some fun when the Suns out!!!!

 

Anyhow, I'll have more of a think and post if I come up with any ideas....

thanks for the replies, perhaps we can think about doing something in august it will be small this year but perhaps we can build on it for next year. As murt said he has offered his full backing in any ideas so i am thinking of perhaps arranging a meet in cornwall convoy to a location before the m5 and pick up anyone interested then onto weston-super-mare somerset perhaps do something and drive back to cornwall and party in the evening at shelton's place with camping for anyone staying over. The idea would be a stop on the way up to what ever location and a stop on the way back to cornwall not a race it would be great if we could raise lots of money for the local clic unit (Cancel Leukemia in Children.) any more ideas PLEASE say and put your names forward.

Have you any ideas on what the money making event could be ?
